πŸ” Peppol IDs in Belgium – Do We Need Both?

πŸ” Peppol IDs in Belgium – Do We Need Both?

Context

Belgium uses two Peppol schemes for participant IDs:

  • 0208 β†’ KBO/BCE enterprise number
  • 9925 β†’ VAT number (BE prefix)

Example:

0208:1006871480
9925:BE1006871480

Some companies register both, others only one.
SAP Belgium, for example, only provides:

9925:BE0441797980

Question

If my code currently sends invoices using 0208 (KBO/BCE), will B2Brouter automatically route to 9925 if the recipient only has that scheme?
Or do I need to implement logic to handle both schemes?

Why It Matters

From Jan 1, 2026, Belgian B2B invoices must go via Peppol.
If the recipient is registered only under 9925, and we send 0208, delivery may fail.

βœ… Looking for clarification from B2Brouter:

  • Does the API resolve both schemes internally?
  • Or should we always use the exact ID provided by the recipient?
